Domain Parking: What It Is, Why You Need It, and How to Set It Up

Domain parking means linking an additional domain to an existing hosting account without creating a separate site. The parked domain points to the same content as the main domain.

Why Park Domains

  • Brand protection — register typosquatting variants
  • Zone protection — buy .net, .org, .ua so competitors can't use them
  • Future projects — reserve a good name in advance
  • Monetization — show ads on an unlaunched domain

How to Park a Domain in cPanel

  1. cPanel → Domains → Parked Domains
  2. Enter the additional domain name
  3. Click Add Domain
  4. Point the parked domain's NS servers to your hosting NS servers
💡 SEO tip: If a parked domain has backlinks or history, set up a 301 redirect instead of parking — it passes SEO authority to your main domain.
