How to Change Domain NS Servers: Step-by-Step Guide

NS servers (Name Servers) store your domain's DNS records. Changing NS is required when moving to a new host or connecting a third-party DNS provider like Cloudflare.

⚠️ Warning: Changing NS servers causes temporary unavailability of your site and email (up to 48 hours). Plan during low-traffic periods.

How to Change NS at ZevsHost

  1. Go to Client Area → Domains
  2. Select domain → Manage NS
  3. Replace current NS with new servers:
    ns1.zevshost.net
    ns2.zevshost.net
  4. Save changes and wait 24–48 hours for propagation

Verify Propagation

nslookup -type=NS example.com 8.8.8.8
💡 Tip: Before changing NS, copy all existing DNS records to the new provider. Otherwise mail, subdomains, and other services will stop working.
